The prairie is vast and wide
it covers most of the area.
The horses roam free in the grasslands,
the herds run side by side.
Trees and bushes scatter about the plains
where the herds graze near the lakes.
But are they safe in the vast lands?
Are their lives at stake?
As they graze the vultures fly overhead.
They mate in the season of love.
They produce more offspring after a few months,
still wary of the dangers,
but will the vultures get a picking?
The horses that roam here are wild and free.
They rear and buck and are also kicking
the males fight for dominance for the queen horse
but often it ends in tears with no remorse!
Enjoy the plight of the horse herds on the plains.
In the rainy season they huddle in the rain.
They gain popularity with humans as transport
and as pets.
They live and die and roam free.
What is there to see?
Plenty of life on the plains
even in the rain!
Truly lovely
